Only one more week and we will be heading towards our dream of sailing for close to a year. We have been busy selling cars, cancelling bank accounts and other pieces of this and that and trying to pack whilst still living our everyday lives with two, two year olds. The girls understand we are packing to go and live on the boat, and most of their prized possession are being packed to go to Australia. It will be interesting to see how long the novelty of living on a boat takes to wear off, but at the moment it is getting them excited.
A new year perhaps, but no new beginning just yet....
We've had to delay our start date by a month and will be leaving our home here in the Cayman Islands at the end of January now. We are waiting on various work to be done on the boat in order for it to be fit for us to sail away. A bittersweet moment as we are really keen to get to our yacht and start this wonderful adventure, but it has also given us more time with close friends that we have made in Cayman. It will be difficult to say goodbye when the final days approach. |
