After getting their school work done in the morning, and as a treat for 3 days at sea, we took the girls to Seahorse World and Platypus house. These are both very interesting places to visit as adults as well, and we are certainly glad had the opportunity right on our doorstep here. Being a certified diver myself, I have still not had a proper dive in Tasmania’s cold water (a dry suit would be needed) but have always been intrigued by the magical looking, sea weedy dragon. |
The afternoon was spent exploring another converted shed on the wharf, now named as Platypus House, Monotreme Magic. This was, again, a great little excursion to be up close and learning about these unusual animals. As often as possible I ask the girls to write a journal of the days’ activities, and so I thought I would pop an extract of their encounters here: |
